Holly's New Bigger Bedroom

This weekend just gone Uncle Steve came down from Norfolk with the plan to make a bigger bedroom for Holly. The boys both have a double room in the loft conversion but Holly was left in a little box room. Fortunately her room was right next to another box room making it relatively easy to knock a stud wall down and turn two rooms in to one. We also build a stud wall along one side of the old spare room in order to still have a small cupboard upstairs to store things like hoovers, washing etc.

Holly was really excited all week and was telling everyone that Steve was going to knock her wall down. She absolutely loves her new size room as she has so much more room to play. She can now do roly poly's on the floor and even better a load of her toys from downstairs can now go in her bedroom freeing up more space in the conservatory and living room. The actually build part is finished and her room is much bigger, clean and safe to sleep in. However there is a lot of decorating to get done before it is finished and unfortunately this will have to wait until after her birthday and Xmas.

Uncle Steve starts work in the spare box room, note the hole in the wall marking the first hammer blow.

This was the wall that came down in Holly's side.

Within no time Steve has the wall knocked down and is measuring the new stud wall to make a little storage cupboard.

Up goes the stud work frame.

On goes the plasterboard and skirting board giving Holly a much bigger bedroom.

And a small storage cupboard for us.

Holly's new bedroom extension before getting it decorated. She now has two windows and two radiators in her room.
