Bonoween 2018

Bonoween 2018 was back at Wick Palace and was really good fun as always. Everyone made an amazing effort with their costumes and the variety and quantity of food available was probably better than ever. I am not going to waffle on about the night as pictures speak a thousand words and there was a lot of pictures taken.

Lisa won the pumpkin carving competition and had the honour of spearing her pumpkin on the Wick Country Park gates.

Nicky won the costume award and also the recipe award for her frankfurter mummies. Rory won the cutest pumpkin costume (which I suppose was a given, although I will always argue it was Holly). Then Uncle Steve won the scariest costume for his ghost of Elvis costume.

For our recipe this year I cooked an pumpkin cheesecake which I thought was absolutely amazing and arguably one of the best pumpkin recipes I have tasted. Lisa's pumpkin vegetable pie was also pretty damned amazing.

Joshua and Brandon's costume arrive a day after Halloween. Brandon was Raven and Joshua was the Gingerbread Man - both characters from Fortnite.

Fortnite poses.

Brandon in his gaming chair, dressed as a gaming character and playing a game.

Joshua added some green hair to his costume.

Holly had half her hair pink and half purple.

With some extra pumpkins I made a meat one with cocktail sausage hair.

And then a veggie version with cheese and pineapple.

All the food looked amazing on the table.

Lisa and David dressed as Penelope Pitstop and Dastardly.

Tina in her Halloween dress and me as Deadshot from Suicide Squad.

Cat which Layla and Batgirl Holly.

Skeleton Auntie Chris and the Ghost of Elvis Uncle Steve.

Lea and Michael as Jon Cena from the WWE.

Auntie Nicky in her winning costume.

Zoe, Rory and Nick as Skeletons.

Amy and Shay as characters from Guardians of the Galaxy. I think Shay was desperately trying to convince Amy she looked good in long hair (but she wasn't having any of it).

Matt and Kim as Shaggy and Thelma from Scooby Doo.

Joshua took responsibility to keep the fire going in the chiminea during the evening.

Layla and Holly chilling on the swing chair in front of Joshua's fire.

Holly pulling a cracker with untie Lisa.

Chris and Steve pulling a Halloween cracker.

Lisa and David with another cracker (how did Xmas crackers become a thing for Easter and Halloween?).

People chilling in the conservatory.

Brandon playing with a sparkler ahead of our fireworks.

Layla and Joshua with some sparklers.

Green haired Joshua in action with on orange sparkler.

Holly loved the sparklers as well.

Chris and Holly enjoyed doing some Halloween scratch art and also did some handwriting practice.

A Friends moment as a cheesecake gets dropped on the floor and Michael and Steve drop to their knees and start eating it up!

Holly loves holding little baby Rory. It still seems weird with Holly no longer being the baby of the family.

Joshua also loves holding baby Rory, although Rory's face does look like he is taking a dump.

The annual family picture with everyone in costume (except Rory who was asleep in the conservatory).
