Remembrance Sunday

I have been amazed at just how much the kids have learnt at school this week about WW1 leading up to Remembrance Sunday. Brandon came home Friday night and was telling me all about Zeppelin's, how many people died and all sorts of useful facts. Holly's class has done some amazing Poppy art for Remembrance Sunday including a Poppy Reef which they all wrote their name on and a paint hand Poppy.

Then at today's football match one of our parents (Dan Smith) generously bought the kids all a really nice 100 year "Least We Forget" poppy which they all wore with great pride and did the minutes silence before today's match. We won't go in to details of the match as it was the boys worst performance this season taking a 9-2 hammering from a team that we should have been on par with. So instead of "Lest we Forget", it was more a case of "Best we Forget!".

Holly's class poppy reef - can you spot the one Holly wrote on????

I think this hand painting poppy that Holly made at school is excellent.

Such a great group of kids, the FG U10 Tigers all with their poppies on for Remembrance Sunday.
