Easter Half Term @ the Princess Diana Memorial

After the Science Museum we took a walk up towards Hyde park to have a picnic and to enjoy some of the spectacular Easter sun that we are having. Enroute we managed to grab a nice refreshing ice-cream which made the brief walk that much more enjoyable. In Hyde Park I really wanted to see the Princess Diana Memorial and what a surprise and delight this turned out to be.

The memorial is pretty amazing and much bigger and much more cleverly thought out than I expected. Obviously with it being such a hot day made it that much better as the kids could strip off and jump in the water to cool off. The memorial really brings people together in a fun environment which is kind of what you would expect for something associated with someone like Princess Diana.

All stripped off and ready to cool down in the Princess Diana Memorial.

The water was chilly but that didn't deter the kids from going in.

Around the circumference of the memorial are various different textures and water flow features.

The memorial is so much larger than I expected.

A rocky section which Brandon found difficult to walk up.

Some section get up to maybe knee deep whilst others are very shallow.

Joshua was the only one who braved (or was stupid enough) to lay down in the water!

Another different texture in the memorial feature.

Lovely to see so many kids enjoying a memorial feature in a park.

Holly drying out in the sun on Tina's lap before heading off on our journey.

The Memorial is so big it is hard to get it all in one picture.

As we walked along the lake in Hyde park we saw loads of swans, ducks, herons, moorhens but the kids favourite was this bird with her 3 little babies.

Quick family selfie in Hyde Park. Next stop Leicester Square.
