Captain Peg Leg

Be it right or wrong we have always been completely honest with Joshua and Brandon when it comes to the difficult questions regarding their Nanny and Grandad's health. We feel it is important they understand that Grandad lost his leg through smoking and that Nanny has the horrible cancer disease. It doesn't make answering their questions any easier but at least they know the truth and deal with it face on without being afraid. Both boys will quite happily help their Nanny with her feeds and are always curious with Grandads false leg. In fact yesterday they were both trying to figure out just how exactly Grandad fits his foot into his prosthetic leg. I think because they see the foot at the bottom of the false leg, they somehow assume the foot squeezes down through the metal tube and into the shoe.

Here is Joshua trying to figure out how to fit a false leg.

And as you know whatever Joshua does, Brandon soon has to try for himself as well. Not sure hiding an able bodied foot in a prosthetic leg will get them into the 2012 Parolympics though!

Its no secret that the two boys are completely spoilt and have a house FULL of lovely toys. However it is still the simple things that often please them the most. How many times have you been told over the years that kids are more interested in the box than the present.

This brings new meaning to living in a box!
