St Lukes Hospice Summer Fete

Today was the annual summer fete at St Lukes Hospice and the boys had a great time spending my money but giving to a good charity at the same time. Brandon's favourite part of the day was the cycle track. For a small donation he got to complete 3 laps of the track on a perfectly sized balance bike. I supported him on the climbs and descent's, but he balanced himself on the flat sections of the course.

Waiting with nervous anticipation for the start of his lap.

But once he hits the course he doesn't stop grinning from ear to ear.

Joshua waited very patiently for his turn and went on a slightly larger pedal bike. Currently he cannot ride without stabilisers so I had to support him around the track. But he still did very well and was chuckling away each time he went up and down the ramps.

Ready for the 2012 Olympic mountain biking in Essex.

Joshua at the top of the ramp with little Brandon watching on.
As with most fete's there are plenty of rides to keep the children entertained. Fortunately we managed to convince the boys to save these until the end. First up was the tea cups.

That's a cheeky look on Joshua's face.
After the tea cups it was onto the swings. Brandon thoroughly enjoyed these and was laughing and waving every time he came around. But he always has loved swings so its nor surprise really.

No fete is complete without a bouncy castle for all the kids to bundle on. Brandon is getting more confident on these, however he is still quite small and light and when a bigger kid starts bouncing near him then he either goes flying or hits the deck. Needless to say both boys should be pretty tired after 1.5 hours at Forest Glade football club this morning and then all the activity at the Fete.

One of our bargain purchases at the fete was this toddle size space hopper. After last weeks Sumo Basho at Auntie Nicky's, Joshua was desperate to get this blown up just as soon as we got home today. It is the absolutely perfect size for the boys and even Brandon managed to get on it and get a few bounces in. So watch out Nicky, next time Joshua is over he wants a rematch and he has been practising hard.

The first bounce.

May antics of jumping off trampolines using a space hopper has rubbed off on Joshua as he is already making jumps off of the decking!

Safe landing on the grass.
