So Little B finished his last
ever day at Seymour House Nursery this week and now joins Joshua to enjoy the
rest of the summer holiday before they both start back at Abacus Primary
School. I have to say it will be very nice to not have HUGE nursery bills for the
foreseeable future, well at least until Bubba is born and gets old enough to
start nursery!. Brandon has done very well at the Seymour House and has gained
some good friends. It is lovely to look through his Learning Journal and see
what the little guy has been up to during his time there. Money very well spent
in my opinion which has given him a really good foundation for starting school
in Sept.
One of my memories from Brandon’s
Nursery years which has had an influence on one of his many nicknames is the
reading cards which they provide the children. One of the red cards in the
pack is the simple word “but” and whenever Brandon reads this card he breaks
out into a repetitive chorus of “but, but….but, but, but…….but” and finds it
highly amusing. Anyway a few weeks back I was driving home from work and the
radio played the remix of the Master Chef “Biscuit Base” song and low and
behold in the middle of the song there is a bit which references the buttery
biscuit base where they rap the word “but” exactly like Brandon does when he
reads the card. Apparently Radio 1 play this song every Friday to signify the start of the weekend. Needless to say both boys find this highly amusing and now have
the song downloaded on to their Innotabs and one of Brandon’s nicknames is now “biscuit
base”.
Here is the offending word card, "but"! |
Master Chef - Buttery biscuit base, listen to the song if you haven't heard it. |
The only thing for Brandon to do
now is to go back to the nursery on 22nd Aug for his final farewell
and graduation ceremony.
