Joshua's 1st Cross Country Race

For the last few weeks Joshua has been training early mornings with the school in order to try and make their cross country team ready for an inter school competition. Today they had their first ever race over at Wickford Town Football Club and Joshua did extremely well indeed. Out of all the Year 3's across all the schools there, he placed a very respectable 5th place and has apparently qualified for the next stage (what ever that is). What made his run even sweeter is that he beat quite a few players from some of the other U8 football teams at Forest Glade, so some kudos for when he goes training this Saturday.

Maybe all those park runs and runs around the Wick with me are paying off.

First lap and Joshua is pacing himself well and looking strong. Little Ellis from the Forest Glade Lions team along side him.
Heading down the home straight and he has shaken off all competition apart from the 4 ahead of him.
Red faced and tired, but very proud of himself.
Team Abacus with Joshua sitting out on the left hand side. Well done boys and girls.
