Norfolk Camping Day 5 - BeWILDerwood

The final day of our camping holiday and we had a fairly early start to get everything all packed away and to be offsite by 10am. We were very fortunate that the rain held off and we managed to get everything packed away dry. Similar to our set-up, we were all done and dusted and ready to hit the road in about 2 hours. However rather than simply hitting the road and going home we decided to make the most of our week away and headed over to BeWILDerwood.

Its been about 2 or 3 years since we last came here and I absolutely love this place. It also holds some very fond memories as last time we visited it was with my Mum and she absolutely loved watching the kids playing in the tree houses, slides and ropes. I am not 100% convinced that Joshua and Brandon could remember coming here previously despite both of them saying they did. Since our last visit they have expanded the site adding a very impressice Sky Maze near the den building area.

Holly was an absolute star at Bewilderwood and loved it so much. She went on the zip wires, the swings, helped carry wood for the den building and went up some of the biggest slides there and came down fearlessly all on her own. She ran around and climbed everywhere completely exhausting herself so much so that she subsequently slept the whole 2 hours on the drive home back to Essex.

BeWILDerwood was an absolutely fantastic way to end a really enjoyable week of camping in Norfolk with some lovely family time. Despite the winds and the storms at the start of the week, Tina was not too put off by the camping experience and is still keen to book up another camping trip in the summer holidays. So it looks like we will certainly get our monies worth out of the new tent.

At the entrance to BeWILDerwood ready for a fantastic last day of our holiday.

Tina and the kids riding on the boat past the Boggles and Twiggles to get to BeWILDerwood.

Midred raised her head and snorted loudly startling all the kids on the boat.

First we hit the zipe wires and even Holly could go on these as they had smaller ones fitted with a child swing seat.

And off Holly goes down the zip wire.

Joshua and Brandon getting ready for a race on one of the larger zip wires.

And off they go racing down the forest zip wires.

Holly enjoying time on the swings.

Joshua and Bradon practicing being a Thorneyclod spider.

The boys ready to get lost in the Muddle Maze.

Race on as Brandon sets off through the maze.

But he was beaten by Joshua who was lightning quick through the maze.

Brandon exits the Muddle Maze.

Brandon and Holly in one of the tree houses.

Holly doing very well crossing one of the rope bridges on her own.

A Holly size playhouse.

Anyone see a Holly hiding in this picture.

Holly playing around in the little toddler play area.

Learning how to make sand castles with Dad.

Probably our only family picture during this holiday.

A Holly size door, I wonder where it could lead too......?

Holly being very brave going across the broken bridge.

Bouncy, bouncy.

Holly exploring some of the tree top mazes.

B and H making me crawl through some rather narrow rope tunnels.

Holly using her muscles to help collect wood for some den building time.

Me and the boys set to work on trying to build the best den in the woods.

This log was too big for Holly so she asked me to help her carry it.

Big strong Dad showing the kids how to collect wood properly.

Our den is taking shape and becomes the envy of all the other kids. Once we left there was flocks of kids diving in there and getting their parents to take pictures of them.

Holly enjoying some shelter on a log seat in our den.

Joshua and Brandon in the den.

Brandon with the Far Tree poster at the story telling area.

Holly chose the Mildred picture.

As did Joshua.

Brandon sitting in the BeWILDerwood story telling chair.

Now thats a big chair for little Holly.

Holly was getting very good at climbing by the end of the day and was managing some quite high cargo nets. At the top she would say to me "Did it self Daddy".

I think this swing is designed for disabled kids, but our 3 enjoyed a relaxing swing in it.

Holly thoroughly enjoyed her day at BeWILDerwood and completely wore herself out.

No trip to the woods is complete without some tree climbing.

The three kiddies racing down one of the many slides from the top of a tree house.

Me and Holly at the top of the broken bridge.

Holly in her little foot bag coming down a rather large slide at a considerable speed (smiling all the way).
