20 Week Scan - Is it a boy or girl?

Today we had the 20 week scan on baby number 3 and I was really hoping that this blog update would be to reveal the sex of the baby. However after over 2 hours at the hospital and 3 different scans we are none the wiser. Poor Tina was being made to drink gallons of water, eat food, walk up and down stairs and just about every other trick in the book to try and get the baby to play ball. Mean while I was left trying to entertain Joshua and Brandon for 2 hours in a very hot, clammy and sticky maternity ward.

So clearly the new baby is either not very photogenic or likes the element of surprise. The good news is that the baby and Tina are all healthy. The bad news is that we have no idea on the sex of the baby. Poor Joshua was devastated and almost in tears at not finding out if he was going to have a little brother or sister. Anyway we have a new picture of the baby from the waist to the crown. The detail you can see around the mouth and nose area is pretty incredible for a scan.

So with regards to the sex of the baby you have 2 options. Option 1 is to make your best guess from the picture above (might as well flip a coin really) and Option 2 is to wait until week 32 when they are going to give Tina another scan (so 8th October) - seems a long way off.
