Park Run PB's

As neither of the boys had any football today we had originally planned for them to go and compete in their 5th Park Run. However given the late night that they had at Romford Dogs yesterday and having not gone to bed until gone 11, we had little hope that either of them would make it out of bed in time to get to Chelmsford. However we couldn't have been more wrong. Not only did they both wake up at 7am keen to don the running shorts and compete, but they both had phenomenal races and achieved new PB's.

Joshua came 33rd in his age group and finished in a time of 9 min 53 seconds and Brandon came 49th in his age group and finished in a time of 10 min 44 seconds. What made Brandon's performance even more amazing was that this was the first time he has run the 2k without me being at his side. Amazingly he raced the whole course without stopping and got his new PB even though he was suffering with a stitch again. For me it was just fantastic to not be running alongside him for once and to simply be in the crowd cheering the boys on and enjoying watch them perform. They make me so proud.

Joshua takes after me and gets off to a very quick start.

Brandon off to a more steady start but mixing it with some much bigger kids.

Joshua looking strong as he starts his second lap.

Brandon is hot on Joshua's heals, but starts suffering from a stitch again.
Caution : Little B Coming.
Brandon soldiers on and completes the race without stopping.
Joshua has little left for the sprint to the finish, but still gets his PB.
Brandon looked super on the finish straight as he kicks his turbo in and goes for the sprint.

Hopefully we will get a few more Park Run's in over the next few weeks as it is great training for the boys for their forthcoming school sports day.
