Isle of Wight Day 4 - Blackgang Chine

Day 4 of our holiday and we are halfway through already. Todays adventure took us down to the south coast to visit the Blackgang Chine theme park. This was another place that we had visited some 6 or 7 years ago when we last visited the IOW and it was quite amazing just how much it has changed. Although I am sure I remember there being more rides for the kids. Anyway we had another great fun filled day which left everyone exhausted by the time we got back in to the car for the journey home. By now Holly was getting in to the habit of having a power nap in the car at the end of each place we visited to re-charge her batteries ready for dinner and the evening entertainment.

Blackgang Chine and another beautiful day with blue skies.

The giant pirate that guards the entrance to the theme park.

The dinosaur walk has been completely renovated with full size moving dinosaurs and sound effects.

This little bugger caught us off guard and squirted water as we walked past. Joshua got the worst of it as he was leading the way.

We had to kind of rush through the dinosaur walk as Holly really didn't like it much and we didn't want her having nightmares.

The big T-rex really frightened her even though we tried to explain that they weren't real.

The 3 kiddies climbing on a dinosaur.

We got to witness seeing some real monsters hatching during our visit.

Love the colour on this picture. Great shot of the 3 kids.

Mind the spikes on that one.

Holly found a little house to hide from the dino's.

This gnome seat had speakers that told the kids a story when you sat in it.

Just beautiful views from Blackgang looking out over the sea.

Holly has taken me prisoner (I nearly didn't get out of this one as my head was a bit stuck!).

No throwing eggs at me and Holly please.

Get the wet sponges out.

Brandon seems happy to be locked up.

All 3 kids loved playing on the pirate ships which had water squirting cannons that they could fire across ships to cool each other down.

Joshua firing a water cannon over to the other ship.

Holly played at being captain driving the ship.

This would have been a really nice colourful picture of the kids if Brandon hadn't of decided to go between Joshua's legs and have his face down!

The new underwater kingdom at Blackgang is quite impressive.

Swimming through the underwater kingdom.

My 3 little pearls.

The kids look tiny against a full size blue whale.

Brandon riding a horse on the Western Cowboy themed part of the park.

Brandon experiencing a old western prison cell bed.

Somewhere in this picture is my 3 kiddies.

Holly was being naughty so we had to lock her up.

And Joshua, yippee all 3 kids locked up.............. time to run.

The snakes a ladders section has some awesome slides for the kids to play on.

Even Holly managed to brave the largest snake slide, completely out of control and spinning from front to back.

Josh and Brandon take guard at Holly's princess castle.

I think this is a lovely picture of our little B.

Me and B at the top of the water flume and about to cool off and get wet.

Joshua beat us to the bottom. Unfortunately Holly was about 2cm too small to ride on the water slides. She was so upset.

So instead she made mummy and daddy feel super sick by going on the spinning barrels about a dozen times!!!

Inside the rib cage of a fin whale skeleton.

This old whale is still at Blackgang which the kids can run through and get squirted.

Tina and B on the roller coaster. Another one that Holly was too small for.

The kids all got these re-fillable ice-cream cups as a little treat.

Funny faces in the house of mirrors.

Wow Brandon how tall you have got.

Who's got knobbly knees?

All the kids had these cap guns and were running around the park shooting everyone. So peer pressure made me give in a but the two boys one, what a rip off. £13.50 each and then £6 for caps. So £33 on two guns!!!!!!!

Joshua and Brandon on the roller coaster.

Time to lose the kids in the maze. They are in there somewhere.

Holly in what looks like one of Joshua's old school shoes.

The end of a great day out at Blackgang Chine. Holly couldn't quite pull off the one legged pirate pose.
