Spain - Costa Dorada Day 6

Day 6 and you can see a very familiar pattern forming here. Beach, pools, aqua park, mini disco...... Day 6 though was back in the aqua park and Joshua braved one of the adult rides which he was tall enough for. Basically it was a water rapids ride that ran down a hill top with you laying in an inflatable ring. The only condition for Joshua going on this is that I went down with him holding onto his ring. By the end of the ride his little arms could hardly hold him up in the ring, but he still loved it.

At the dolphinarium we were treated to a special show of 5-aside dolphin football. The trainers through in a few large core trainer balls and the dolphins loved playing with the crowd by flipping the balls into the crowd using their tails or noses. You would throw the ball back in and within seconds 2 dolphins would be all over it trying to flip it out again.

As the holiday progressed Joshua showed more and more interest in diving/snorkeling and was desperate to see some fish in the sea. As it was the only overcast day of the holiday I took him out along a long boulder wave breaker which extended to a photo point looking back along La Pinada. Neither of us were best dressed for navigating the boulders with sandal's and more often than not I was swinging Josh across some of the bigger boulders.

At the end I found a low level rock right by the waters edge where we could get changed and put on our snorkel set.

This was how far we had travelled along the rock breaker.

This was the view back on La Pinada from the end of the wave breaker.

To give you an idea of the size of boulders we had to traverse just look at them in comparison to Josh as he poses at the end where the fisherman are.

The snorkeling was great and I managed to show Joshua various little fishes which were all along the rock side and also some sea urchins. We only stayed around 5-10 mins and then dried off, changed and prepared for the hike back. But it was well worth it to have my first father to son snorkel sessions and Joshua was so proud he had seen some fish and now classified himself as a diver.
