Holly's First Solid Food - Baby Rice

Holly always sit with us at the dinner table and usually has a couple of white chocolate buttons to suck on whilst we are eating. We was planning to start weaning her onto solids in a couple of weeks time when she reaches 4 months old. But tonight the little girl was clearly hungry and was clearly signalling that she wanted more food once all of the chocolate had gone. So Tina decided to mix up some baby rice see if Holly was ready to start having some solid food.

Given that both Joshua and Brandon never really took to baby rice we wasn't that hopeful. However the result was pretty amazing. Holly absolutely loved the rice and lapped up about 1/4 to 1/2 a bowl full. So clearly she is ready and therefore we move into an exciting chapter of her life by blending up as many different fruits and vegetables for her to try. I think Tina is also planning to start getting some baby porridge for her breakfast.

Holly enjoying her first spoonfulls of solid food - some baby rice.

Yum, yum!

Hardly any mess. She wasn't spitting much out and was swallowing most of the food.

Open wide..........

Joshua managed to get this picture of Holly pulling a face! I think it was the camera flash rather than the taste of the food that caused this expression.

Mucky chops - here we go with multiple dirty bibs on a daily basis.
After her food she also tried some drinking water for the first time out of her new pink cup to wash down the yummy food.

You've got to lover her little pink drinking cup.

Finally for today's blog I forgot to mention that at the weekend Joshua was playing another match against Buckhurst Hill Football Club at home. The whole of Team GMB played outstanding and it was a real tough job to pick the man of the match as they all deserved the medal this week. Unfortunately as coach I didn't want to seem biased towards Joshua and give the medal to him and so I ended up deciding on Reily who was our goal keeper. However Joshua certainly made a good stake for the medal as he scored another hatrick during the game and was our leading goal scorer. If he carries on like this I will have no option but to give him the MOTM medal.

Great shot of Joshua celebrating his hatrick of goals against Buckhurst Hill FC at the weekend.
