Max's 6th Birthday World Cup Party

Another weekend completely dominated by football. What with yesterdays Chelsea training and the Presentation Day, then today a tournament over Rayleigh followed by Max's 6th Birthday World Cup Party. I will not write much about Rayleigh as it was a very poorly organised event. The weather was unbelievably hot and I didn't envy the kids playing 3 matches in that heat. We made sure they all drank plenty of water and I always take some oranges to slice up for them as well. Unfortunately our centre forward was unavailable today so we were also lacking substitutes which meant all the boys had to work that much harder. Joshua decided to be a goal keeper today and did very well overall. He made quite a few good saves and is really starting to get the hang of it. He now tries to get his hands on the ball first rather than just tanking it with his feet. Anyway the end result today was a very close 1-0 defeat in our first game which we definitely should not of lost, then a 1-0 win in a pretty tight second game, finally our hardest match at the end against the Rayleigh Lions was a 2-0 defeat. Our boys held their own against the Lions and lost because of 1 silly defensive mistake which was almost an own goal and then we gave a penalty away!

Anyway we rushed back from Rayleigh to then join fellow Tiger, Max, at his 6th birthday party which was a World Cup themed party. The party involved even more football but mostly fun type games as opposed to matches. Joshua and Brandon were picked for the Netherlands team which I was obviously pleased with. The organisers of the party had shirts for Italy, Spain, England and Netherlands to have a little World Cup tournament. Brandon was getting right stuck in there despite being quite a lot smaller than the other boys.

Me and Holly watch the boys playing football.

Holly's first bouncy castle experience.
With the weather so hot the kids were really enjoying getting soaked by water squirters during the party and Joshua then took it one step further and simply dipped his head in the bucket of cold water to try and cool down.

Joshua feeling much happier and cooler after dunking his head.

The boys enjoying playing on the bouncy castle.

Wow, what a fab idea for a party! Looks like lots of fun, trust Josh to go that bit extra and dunk his head in the water!
Holly looks as gorgeous as ever and I for one am very pleased that she likes Wotsits, as I do too and am willing to share xxx
