Holly's First Trip to the Seaside

Well Summer is upon us and Joshua came up with the great idea yesterday that we should go to the beach today. Sounded like a good plan to me as Holly has never been to the seaside. So we prepared a picnic and loaded up the car to head off to our Shoebury. Upon arrival I noticed that the entire beach front was fenced off which struck me as being a bit odd. So I left Tina and the kiddies in the car and went over to investigate further. It turned out that there was an unexploded device found on the beach recently and the whole area had been shut off. I went back to the car to give the boys the bad news that it was pointless staying there and their little hearts were broken. So we decided to head further towards Southend in hope of finding a spot of beach that didn't feature explosive devices!!!

So a short drive along the coast and we found a lovely bit of beach in between Shoebury and Southend which was very quiet and the tide was in. The two boys donned their aqua shoes and wet suits and we were off. Joshua wasted absolutely not time getting into the water and having a swim, finding seaweed and crabs etc. Brandon was typically more apprehensive about the cold water and initially stayed on the beach digging sand and stones.

Joshua instantly got into the water and started seeking our crabs and seaweed etc.

Brandon initially preferred to stay on dry land and dig for treasure (although at one point he did shout out that he had found a bomb).

Joshua is a complete beach bum and is always happy at the seaside.

Joshua also seems to make friends everywhere he goes and today he met up with two other kids called Jacob and Holly who he started happily playing with.

Today had lots of firsts for Holly. Her first trip to the seaside being the main one and so I had to take a selfie of me and Holly as we took a stroll along the beach watching the boys playing.

Joshua enjoying playing in the action man inflatable boat. But I only took one ore and so he was going around in circles!!

Joshua chilling in the boat as I drag him along.

Another first for Holly as she wets her feet in the cool sea for the first time. There was no screaming and she seemed more than happy with the feel of the sand and the water running through her toes. I know exactly what you are thinking, she looks like a little Bawatch Babe running down the beach......hah....... In years to come when Holly reads this blog she will now google Baywatch and realise how sad her old man was watching such a program!

You wouldn't be wrong thinking it was a scene from Baywatch.

Holly chilling on the boys boat and having a munch on their baseball caps.

A happy little girl with and Angry Bird cap teether!

Joshua off having a refreshing swim in the sea. I think he was the only one I saw all day brave enough to go right in to neck height.

Brandon eventually braves the water but rarely goes deeper than waist height.

Another seflie of me and Holly.

Me and Holly chilling in the sun and watching the jet skis in action.
I know I shouldn't have taken Holly on the inflatable in the sea but she was having such a good time and I couldn't resist. She sits up very well now so I sat her in the boat and then pulled her up and down the coast staying in the very shallow part. As you can see from the picture she was extremely happy and having lots of fun.

Holly gets her sea legs as she takes to the inflatable.

Yet another first for Holly as she tastes ice cream for the first time. Not any old ice cream I hasten to add. No Holly samples some limited edition champagne Magnum!!!! Looks like my little girl is going to grow up with expensive tastes.

Finally for our trip to the beach we took a quick walk around the beach shop and found this lovely hat for Holly. We figured it would be perfect for her on holiday and had to get it for her. How adorable does she look?

Holly seemed to really enjoy the seaside which gives me great confidence that she will also enjoy our holiday to Cyprus later this year. I thoroughly enjoyed our day out and it is always nice to see the two boys enjoying themselves on the beach. Can't wait until the day when Holly is old enough to join in with them.

Lovely pictures of all of the kiddies.
I better start saving in case we all go camping again. Looks like Holly will have expensive tastes when Auntie Nicky goes to buy the breakfast ice creams! xxx
