Cyprus Holiday Day 2 - Paragliding

Day 2 of our holiday and we were destined for a beach day. Me, Joshua and now Holly all absolutely love the beach but Tina and Brandon are more pool people. The beach was just beautiful and the water was crystal clear. Having the hot sand between your toes is just the best feeling ever. To start the day me and Joshua went off for a snorkel and managed to see lots of really colourful fish. Josh is now getting very, very confident at his snorkeling and was fascinated by all the fish.

Whilst we were playing on the beach Holly was having her morning nap under the shelter of the sun shade.

Me playing with the camera taking a picture of the boys and Tina in the sea through the handle of a spade.
At the end of our beach was a water sports centre which was screaming out to me and the boys. So we took a walk down there and saw some pedal boats, jet ski's, banana boats and then a sign for paragliding. I didn't think the boys were old enough but we enquired anyway. To our complete surprise they were allowed to do it and even better than that they did triple paraglides and therefore me and the boys could all ride at the same time. At €75 it wasn't particularly cheap, but it was probably the best €75 we spent all holiday.

The view along the beach outside Electra Village.

Brandon with this rather aquatic themed LandRover.

Joshua and Brandon all ready in their life jackets to go paragliding for the first time.

Whilst we wait for our turn on the speed boat Brandon is looking a little nervous and I am starting to worry that he will not want to go up.

The parachute gets inflated at the back of the boat and then the 3 of us are called up to get hooked on.

Up, up and away. We are off. Such an amazing feeling flying gracefully through the air.

Joshua was on the left of me.

Brandon was on my right.

And I was in the middle.

The view from up on the paraglide was just amazing.

That speed boat seems an awful long way away!

The view above us at the inflated parachute.

Despite my concerns, Brandon absolutely loved the paragliding, his words were "This is awesome!".

Picture of Joshua showing just how high we were.

Brandon never stopped smiling and definitely wants to do this again.

Crystal clear waters below us.

The view along the coast of Cyprus.

Is it me or is that speed boat getting further away from us?

In the distance we approached the Nemo excursion boat which was to become a trip for another day of our holiday.

The driver of the speedboat took us right over the Nemo and also dropped us down and dunked us in the water.

The camera lens now wet from the dunk, but we are slowly reeled back onto the deck of the speed boat.

A happy little Brandon sits in the captains seat.

Me and my boys after an absolutely wicked paragliding experience which was for sure one of our highlights of the holiday.
Once we got back to the beach little Holly had woken up so it was time to get her into the sea for some fun. We spent a lot of back breaking time walking up and down in the water supporting Holly either under the arms or by the hands. We found with Joshua that learning to walk in water is a really great way to develop a baby walking skills as it provides some buoyancy, helps with balance and takes load off of the joints.

Not good for your back, but Holly loved walking up and down the beach. Just look at that water!

I told you she was happy!

After the beach and a spot of lunch we spent the afternoon back in the water park - not sure Tina could handle an entire day at the beach! One of the memories of this holiday will be seeing the boys enjoying their independence at ordering their own drinks, ice creams and food at the bars, restaurants and pool bars. Every now and then they would disappear and you could guarantee they would be sitting up at the bar! We had a minor scare as Joshua bent his wrist back on one of the water slides and for a moment we feared it may have been sprained or worse. We strapped it up for the evening and by the morning he was fine.

My two grown up little boys sitting at the pool bar with their drinks which they ordered themselves.

Joshua and Brandon diving through the lazy river again.

Great underwater shot of Joshua.

Holly once again enjoyed time in the baby swing chair.

Me playing with the camera again trying to get a picture of Joshua through an inflatable ring.

3 - 2- 1 and its race on as me, Brandon and Joshua race down the multi slide.

Me and the kids on the pirate ship.

We let Holly have her first go on the water see-saw.

More back breaking walking around with little Holly. If only my arms with longer!
A very full on day and after a clean up shower we were out for dinner and then onto the mini disco followed by a very impressive magic show which ended up with me on stage! The magician did a trick with me where I write my name on a cloth and then he put a potato on my finger with another cloth over the top concealing it. He then sent me back to the audience and some how made my named cloth move from the stage to the potato on my finger. He also did another trick where I picked a random card from a pack of playing cards which he then made appear in an empty, sealed glass bottle by me tapping on the lid!!!

Holly all dressed up for dinner time.

Before the mini disco and the magic show the kids all got their faces painted.

Brandon was Batman.

Then it was Joshua's turn.

Joshua chose to be a pirate which was rather apt given we were booked to go out to sea on the Black Pearl later in the holiday.

Both boys loved having their faces painted and didn't want to wash it off at bed time!
