Cyprus Holiday Day 9 - Mermen & Magicians

Day 9 and we are starting to get up later and later each day. The boys could both really do with an early night but they just love staying up for the mini disco, bingo and then the main show. It seems no matter how tired they get, they do not want to miss a thing whilst on holiday. Anyway once we did finally get out of bed we headed over for breakfast. Holly is loving feeding herself and seems to prefer this to being fed by us (if only Brandon was the same!). So we have been trying to give her as much finger food as possible. Its messy but she is happy.

After breakfast me and Josh managed to convince the others that it was the turn for the beach today. So off we went to Sandy Bay where again me and Josh went for a snorkel. Today we was in some water that must of been a good 6 or 7m deep and Joshua was snorkeling complete on his own and was even trying to breath hold and dive with his snorkel. During our snorkel we managed to pick up some nice shells and even found a ten Euro cent coin.

Joshua really enjoying his snorkeling and went deeper and deeper today.

In the shallows showing good form with his frog stroke.

Me diving underneath Joshua and taking a picture looking up at him.

Another picture of beautiful little Holly in her float ring.

Super tanned Brandon burying treasure on the beach.

Whilst at the beach today we decided to make some Mermen rather then more sand castles. So Joshua went first and me and Brandon made his fish tail, then we swapped around and made a fish tail for Brandon.

A stranded Merman on the beach.

Oh no, its just a Joshua in disguise.

Then Brandon's turn.

I think we made the tail a bit too big for his little body.

The boys taking shade on a cool paragliding bench seat.

After lunch we decided to go and try our hand at some jet skiing today. However much to everyone's disappointment the water sports centre had closed up early due to the waves being too big/strong today. So maybe tomorrow we will head out first thing in the morning when the sea appears to be much calmer. So we had a lazy afternoon by the pool where the boys where practicing some rather crazy dives/jumps.

Brandon is the new Tom Daley and was doing some stunning forward and back flips.

In the evening we noticed that the moon appeared very, very bright and was lighting up the beach amazingly. I tried to capture a picture of this but failed dismally. It turned out that we was very close to the "super moon" event and over the next few days the moons brightness seemed to get more and more intense. I did manage to get a slightly better picture on Day 11.

Early attempts to try and get a picture of the "Super moon".

In the evening there was another magic show and this time Joshua was called up on stage to be an assistant. The magician started off by putting a hat on Joshua and then magically pulled some rubbish out of his mouth. He then did a trick with multiplying magic wands where Joshua had to turn an empty tin into a full pot of sweets. The magician also had the kids in stitches as Joshua had to fire various guns at the tin which either fell to bits, turned into a fan when the trigger was pulled or the good old classic bang sign.

From out of nowhere a ball of tissue appears to come out of Joshua's mouth.

Joshua fires a gun at the tin which disintegrates in his hands.

The classic "bang" gun.

Joshua really got a kick out of being on stage and was full of it. He was completely mystified by some of the tricks.
