Cyprus Holiday Day 5

On Day 5 we took a walk down the beach to purchase tickets for the 11.30am Nemo Submarine ride excursion. We ended up purchasing an open ticket as they guy in the water sports centre said the sea was probably a bit too choppy for kids today and that we would be better off waiting a day or so. Brandon being his usual stubborn self was adamant he wanted to go today despite the advice and so we ended up waiting about 45 mins for the bus to take us to the harbour. Once the bus driver pulled up he took one look at the boys and said he wouldn't recommend it today as the sea was very choppy. So we asked him to talk to Brandon and finally he was convinced to leave it for another day. So we spent the rest of the morning at the pool.

Whilst at the pool today we noticed that Holly is really starting to get mobile in the water. She is holding on to the side of the pool and effectively walking through the water on her own now. You can see her frustration as she watches Joshua and Brandon running around and playing and thinking to herself how do I join in. However given her progress in the pool I do not think it will be long before she is walking - definitely before she turns 1. Other updates for Holly are that her 4th tooth started to break through on Day 5 of the holiday.

Lunch was a weird experience today. We have only really just started to get used to the fact that there are now 5 of us to seat at the dinner table. However today Joshua wanted to go off and sit on a different table with two of his friends, Joe and Noah. We decided to give him his freedom as long as he was in site of us and that Joe and Noah's parents also agreed. Brandon also wanted to join them, but as he wasn't eating very well we made him stay with us to ensure he was eating. I thought I had a few more years before the boys started going off and doing their own things on holiday away from Mummy and Daddy!

We have been joking with Brandon and calling him a solar panel due to the way he is just soaking up the sun. I swear if you plugged a light bulb into him it would glow through solar power. Its hard to believe anyone can get a tan like that whilst wearing factor 50 sun cream.

The evening show was very interesting today. It was Greek dancing. After the first couple of dances we were all very unimpressed and starting to think this could be a good day to get and early night and catch up on some sleep. Then the make dance started doing a dance with drinking glasses on his head. Basically he was allowing the crown to stack one glass followed by a coaster on his head and gradually the tower got larger and larger. There was no trickery here, no sticky coasters, just pure strength, skill and balance. I was impressed when the guy got to about 5 glasses and stood up and started dancing with some of the audience.  However he didnt not stop there. He went on to stack an amazing 17 glasses, followed by a bottle and another glass on top!!!!!! Then he stood up and was walking around with the whole stack balanced on his head. Josh and Brandon were completely amazed and clicking away on their IPAD's taking pictures.

5 glasses and coasters balanced on your head is trick enough. But this guy took it a lot further.

17 glasses high and ready for a bottle to go on top. It is so tall they have to stand on a balcony to reach the top.

Wow, 17 glasses, a bottle and another glass on top and the guy is just walking around and dancing.
Day 6 saw us finally make it out on the Nemo submarine.
