Cyprus Holiday Day 6 - Nemo Submarine

So day 6 and the sea had calmed significantly with hardly any waves and the flags showing minimal wind. So we headed down to the harbour for our 2 hour Nemo submarine ride. When we set-off the upper deck looked pretty rammed but as soon as we got out of the harbour they opened up the air condition submarine deck underneath and there was tonnes of room for everyone. It was pretty amazing to sit in the submarine deck and just watch all the sea life, plus it had the added benefit of being air conditioned and thus was much cooler than the upper deck. Whilst we were moving from location to location the crew put on a few activities for the kids such as a mini disco and balloons etc.

Joshua is usually pretty bad on boats and we were worried about him getting sea sick, but boy did he have his sea legs on today. He was running up and down the decks and stuffing his face with pizza whilst guzzling slushies. Holly had a little look in the submarine and then went to sleep. Tina and Brandon started feeling sea sick and sat on the upper deck with their head hanging over the rails. This did not bode well given that we had booked a whole day trip at sea out on the Black Pearl pirate ship for the next day.

The excursion took us for a swim stop at Electra beach (where we did our paragliding) and than back in the other direction to some famous Cyprus caves for a second stop. The Nemo submarine had a diving board off the back which must have been close to 20ft in height. Joshua was brave enough to climb the ladder but bottled it when it came to jumping off. So instead he just jumped off the back of the boat for a refreshing swim/snorkel in the sea.

As we set off on our 2 hour trip the upper deck is looking pretty rammed.

Tina, Holly and Brandon watching the on board DJ in action.

We set-off pulling out of the harbour.

The boys really liked this colourful looking boat which was in the harbour.

All three King's looking for sea life in the crystal clear waters.

Holly down in the submarine deck sitting up well and watching the fishies.

Both boys looking out over the deck whilst Holly sleeps in the buggy.

Nemo flag.

Side view of the sub as me and Josh jump in the water for a swim stop.

View underneath the sub showing all the viewing windows.

Joshua snorkeling and about to be wiped out by a wave.

Great shot of Joshua snorkeling with the Nemo sub in the background.

Another shot of the submarine

Joshua with his sea legs running around the air conditioned submarine deck.

Joshua with his pirate sword balloon.

Brandon got a white one but wasn't feeling much like a pirate with his sea sickness. Just about got a smile.

The famous caves where we stopped for the 2nd swim stop.

A picturesque arch in the landscape.

So I've climbed the top of the diving board with Joshua and he wisely decided it is not a good idea and climbs back down leaving me looking over the edge thinking that I've got to jump otherwise I am showing the boys I am a wimp!

3 - 2 - 1 jump. Hummm did I check how deep the water was????

Splashdown, he is alive and saves face in front of the kids.

A refreshing swim stop by the caves.
With the excursion over we got a taxi back to the hotel and had a spot of lunch, then it was back to the water park. During lunch one of the entertainers called James came up to us and said he nominated Holly as the cutest baby of the week. At the water park Joshua and Brandon pretty much disappeared off and were playing with Joe and Noah all afternoon. It was funny seeing the four off them walking around as a little possie!

Joe, Josh, Noah and Brandon.

A scene from reservoir dogs or just our boys strutting their stuff in their possie around the water park?

The evening entertainment was a kind of dance competition where they had 10 songs which you had to vote on which songs would result in the most dancers being on the stage at the end of the song. Everyone knows that I don't dance so this was left to Tina and Brandon.

Tina and Holly watching the dancing.

Then Brandon drags his mummy on stage for a dance to one of his favourite songs.

No chance of seeing me and Josh on the stage!

Finally for today a picture of Joshua, Joe and James.
Day 7's blog is probably one of the largest after a fantastic day out at sea on the Black Pearl pirate ship.
