Holly Update

It's been a while since I wrote about Holly's development as all my blogs lately seem to be about days out with the kids or holidays.

When the boys were Holly's age we had two toddlers on our hands with very different needs. During this time everything seemed a bit of a blur and its almost as if you miss out on some of the changes. However as the boys are both that much older and independent I seem to notice changes in Holly that I missed with the boys.

Holly also seems to be mentally developing quicker than the boys. I am not sure if this is because she is a girl and they say that girls develop quicker than boys or because she is in a house of 4 older people to learn from. Its probably a combination of both.

She seems to really understand a lot but just doesn't have the vocabulary to accompany her understanding. For example you can call her in the kitchen when dinner is done and tell her to go and tell everyone and she will go running around the house telling everyone "ninner". Also when ever I go to leave the house to take the boys to a club or something she will run to the hall and grab her shoes shouting "ooes". Her speech is developing very good as well and one of my favourites from her vocabulary is when she runs around the house shouting "where's Daddy".

She is also way ahead of the boys with sleep and has already stopped having dream feeds and happily goes through the whole night. She can drink from a cup and pretty much feeds herself all on her own.
On the negative side she is a little bully and doesn't think twice about lashing out to Josh or B and will even pull their hair. She can have a real temper and strop at times but hopefully this is just the terrible two's. She also has a really annoying habit of throwing food and or her plate when she has finished dinner.
