La Pinada, Salou, Spain 2018 Day 12 - Ferrari Land

Only a couple of days left of our holiday but arguably we had saved the best until last - Ferrari Land. This theme park only opened is 2017 and you can tell just how immaculate and new everything still is. I read a lot of reviews before going to Ferrari Land and most of them said that you only really needed half a day there. I am not sure I agree with that, we got there at 11am and was pretty much kicked out at 5pm as everything was closing and we still hadn't seen everything. Perhaps we are just a family of petrol heads. In my opinion Ferrari Land was an absolute bargain at just €65 for a family ticket.

The theme park has something for everyone. There is a great kiddie area and play area which had loads of rides for Holly, there's a Ferrari museum and gallery, a couple of 4D cinema's 2 or 3 extreme rides, an outdoor show and so much more. The highlight for me and Joshua was riding the amazing Red Force which is supposed to simulate the acceleration and G-force of a formula 1 car. It is basically a 20 sec ride that accelerates you to 180kph in a few seconds, climbing to 112m and pulling 4.7g's. The ride is supposed to be 1.4m and Brandon should have been able to go on, but they clearly had the measuring stick wrong as it sailed over his head. He wasn't too upset though as he found Shambala pretty extreme and this was much more extreme. Later in the day me and Joshua went on Red Force for a second time as the queue was down to just 10 minutes. By pure chance we got to go on the front row and boy was that a different experience. It is so fast that if you sit in the front row you have to wear goggles to protect your eyes!

Other than Red Force, the best surprise and delight part of the park was one of the 4D cinema's we found. It basically simulated you flying over exotic locations all around the world in a helicopter whilst following loads of different Ferrari's from over the years. The experience was amazing and really made you feel like you was flying, for example when going over the Great Wall of China you felt you were getting so close that you lifted your feet thinking they were going to hit the wall. All of us wanted another go on this experience.

The kids also had a great photo opportunity to have souvenir pictures taken in various Ferrari's which we then bought on a USB stick to print off at home.

Finally after nearly 2 weeks in Spain we got to visit Ferrari Land.

One side of the entrance gate.

And on the other side.

Then us 5 at the entrance to Ferrari Land.

These are the two most extreme rides at Ferrari Land. Red Force on the left.

The first ride we went on was driving the electric 458 spiders around Monza.

Holly drove our car which gave me time to take pictures and videos.

From the Monza track you get a great view and perspective of Red Force.

Joshua catching up with me and Holly.

Joshua driving around Monza with Tina and Brandon following behind.

Not a fast ride but lots of fun.

Joshua looking cool on a very hot day in Salou.

Brandon pulls in to the pits with Tina as co driver.

Holly by one of the many display Ferrari's.

The incredible Red Force. Only 880m long taking just 20 seconds from start to finish, but well worth it.

They have even built a little Italian City in the theme park.

Holly flying some Italian planes in the kiddie area.

Up, up and away.

Holly learning how to drift a Ferrari.

This was the car she could drift as it went around and around.

The kiddies about to ride on the mini Ferrari coaster for the little ones.

This was me and Josh about to be fired off on Red Force for our first go.

Unfortunately the pit stop change challenge was closed which was a shame as me and Bee fancied our chances at clocking a good time.

Tina and the kids in the Italian City part.

Watching an Italian show outside the Plaza.

Just a nice picture of a fountain, the Plaza and Red Force. I managed to trick Josh and gave him a good soaking in the fountain.

On this little ride they insisted an adult rode with Holly - not very comfortable for someone of my size!

Holly chuckled every time the ride whipped you around the end corners.

Brandon not impressed with the little Ferrari ride.

Needed time to recover I made Tina ride with Holly for the second go.

This was a full size 3D Ferrari which had lasers projecting images on it and in the background whilst you waited for the 4D cinema experience.

And then there was a racing car experience which we didn't think was quite as good.

Some of the beauties in the Museum part.

A very old Ferrari racing car.

This one looked like something from a James Bond film.

Just incredible the amount of buttons and controls on a Ferrari F1 steering wheel.

My boys enjoying some time out of the sun and in the Ferrari museum.

Brandon back on the Monza race track.

Joshua, Tina and Holly riding Monza in some light blue Ferrari's.

Brandon looking like a dude.

I think the  boys had 3 or 4 goes on the Monza race track in the end.

Tina and Holly enjoying Ferrari Land.

Another picture from the Monza track.

On this rare occasion Holly let me drive around Monza and she was the passenger.

Obviously she liked my driving and gave it a thumbs up.

Joshua and Brandon following each other.

A little snack at the end of the day. The boys had some Nutella crepes and Holly had her lime Calypso.

Its 5 o'clock and everything starts closing. Time to leave. Love the way the cinema/gallery building is shaped like the front of a Ferrari.
