La Pinada, Salou, Spain 2018 Day 6 - Pedal Boat

Day 6 and Brandon was recovering from a little bout of 24hr sickness which would later be passed on to Tina and Holly. Not sure whether is was the excitement of the holiday, the heat or something he ate or drank. By pure miracle me and Josh were the only ones to not suffer any kind of sickness on holiday (well that's assuming you don't consider the morning after affects of me having too much rum and coke).

Anyway it seems every beach holiday we have the kids insist on going on a pedal boat and this holiday was no different. In La Pinada they had changed all the pedal slide boats from when we were last there 7 years ago and this year the kids picked a large red and white one with a big bumpy slide on it. We had an hour out in the bay area which was enough as its pretty hard work pedalling one of these.

The kids insisted I had a go on the slide (which I did both feet first and head first) but once I hit the water Joshua and Brandon found it funny to pedal the boat away from me as fast as possible to see if I could catch up with them.

Interestingly in the bay they had lots of buoys scattered around which were red, yellow and green. We explained to Holly that they were called "buoys" and she immediately remarked, "no they aren't, they are girls!". She then went on to explain that the yellow ones were girls and the red and green ones were boys. This became a bit of a joke with the kids throughout the holiday.

Once we returned to the beach we found a guy selling football kits and managed to buy two kits for €45 - bargain. Joshua bought a light blue Barcelona kit with "Messi" on the back and Brandon got the Spanish away kit with "Ramos" on the back. So much cheaper than buying them at home.

Tina and Holly relaxing on the beach.

Holly was very cheeky and sneaked up on the Lifeguard tower when no one was watching!!! Baywatch eat your heart out.

This was the pedal boat that the kids chose for this year, €20 for an hour.

Joshua helped me to pedal out initially and Holly and Brandon took the back seats.

Josh about to head up on the slide and Brandon getting ready to go next.

As always Joshua is first to test the slide and the water.

In he goes, absolutely fearless.

Brandon's turn and this year he didn't let the salt water in his eyes ruin his fun.

In he goes.

Brandon sitting on the end of the slide with the sun looking in to the sea.

Joshua in the water and heading around to the ladder at the back of the boat.

Brandon taking over some pedalling whilst Josh was on the slide.

Me and the boys on the pedal boat.

Holly out enjoying the ride, but not too keen to go on the slide.

Our beautiful little girl.

Leading by example as I join in with the fun on the slide, Joshua taking the picture.

All 3 kiddies enjoying fun on the pedal boat whilst Tina relaxed on the beach.

The three kiddies again.

Joshua about to go head first for the buoy (I mean girl!).

In he goes head first.

Brandon going up again.

The one and only time Holly went up the slide and took the plunge in to shallower water.

Looking back at the famous mushrooms from our pedal boat.

Joshua and Holly pedalling the boat back to shore as our hour comes to an end.

Brandon helps guide the boat in.

Me and Holly made a snake sand castle.

We pretty much had the beach to ourselves.

Joshua would spend all day in the sea given half the chance.

The flags at La Pinada were put up this morning and for a moment we thought they had left the Union Jack down due to Brexit, but it is up there.

These are the football kits which we bought from a guy on the beach at a bargain price.

Joshua with "Messi" and Brandon with "Ramos".

In the afternoon we chilled out by hotel 3 pool.

Joshua having warfare with his large water squirter.

Holly in the little toddle pool.

My family chilling in the sun and Brandon being a very good boy to take some time out for some reading.

Holly loved the all inclusive ice creams and definitely had her monies worth.

Brandon enjoying a bit of reading time and recovering from his day of sickness.
