Christmas with the Aliens

After school today the boys both had their first swimming lesson at the Wickford pool having transferred over from the Sporting Village. They were supposed to go last week, but as Holly was born on this day 1 week ago there was just no way I could get them over there on time. Anyway they were both a bit nervous about going to a new pool with new teachers for the first time, despite all of my assurances that it would be OK and Mummy and Daddy would be there with them (and Holly). Anyway imagine our surprise when we turn up and see Brandon's old teacher from the Sporting Village (Tina) taking lessons at Wickford! She recognised Brandon straight away and this really eased him into his class. She said he did very well for his first lesson especially as the pool is much deeper than he is used too. As for Joshua, well 1st lesson and his teacher was using him to demonstrate to all the other kids how to do things!!!! Needless to say I wouldn't be surprised if he gets pushed up to Stage 5 blue hat very soon.

All smiles before their first lesson at Wickford pool.

Also tonight I had the pleasure of watching Joshua perform in his 2013 Xmas school play. As previously explained the play is called "Christmas with the Aliens" and within it Joshua is part of a four man band that play various different instruments and sing along to the songs. He looked a right dapper chap wearing his black trousers, white shirt and black bow tie. At the very start of the play he also had the job of welcoming everyone by saying "We hope you enjoy the play and please turn off your mobile phones" - at which point no one budged an inch as most people were using their mobile phones to takes pictures/videos of their children.

Joshua all suited and booted as part of the 4 man band for the Xmas school play.

He seemed to really enjoy performing and at the end the head teacher commented that it was the best performance by the band (also their last!).
Tomorrow morning I have the pleasure of watching Brandon's Xmas show and from what I hear from Tina and some of the school Mum's is that it is very good and that Brandon has a bit of a starring role. He has previously only told us he has 4 lines in the play, but as it turns out he is a bit of a narrator for the whole things and has a couple of comic lines as well. So I am really looking forward to that one.

Not too much to update on Holly today. No midwife appointments and not much going on at home as she has slept a lot of the day having had a bit of a restless night, waking at 2am, 4am and then 6am. However she did get a visit early today from her great Gran and Gran, then this evening she met her Auntie Shahinah along with cousins Mia, Oscar and Maisey for the first time. Looking back on it this was an ideal opportunity to get a picture of the  kids together and it completely slipped my mind.

Auntie Shahinah very broody with Little Holly, will she now be tempted by number 4?????
