Football - Karate - Crying

My feet haven’t really touched the ground since returning back to work following my 2 weeks paternity leave, hence the lack of blog updates. So a quick update on the latest developments with the three kiddies starting with the oldest.

Joshua :- On Saturday he had another exhibition football match against Essex Royals. This is a bit of a local derby for Forest Glade and a lot of the lads on our team knew the opposition from school etc.  Anyway the match was a little one sided to say the least as Forest Glade thrashed the Royals something like 12 – 0 (we actually lost count after 12). At half time we took one of our players off and let them field an extra player, but they still couldn’t score. In the end we told our team to stay put on the half way line and let the other team try and score, unfortunately our keeper made 3 good saves even despite these odds. Eventually we did let them score and everyone game them a big cheer so that they were not too demoralised from the experience. Joshua played his part in the match very well and seems to be settling into a midfield / striker role as he is strong and pretty fast. During this game he score his first ever hatrick which is quite an achievement.

Brandon :- Well first update on Little B is that late last week he was sitting at the dinner table and his second baby tooth came out. So it was yet another visit from the tooth fairy that night. Secondly, me and Brandon went to karate training together for the first time on Saturday. Our club was holding an annual Christmas training session where our instructor tries to get everyone together in one big hall. So we had a class of white belts all the way up to 4th dans with an age range from 5 to about 55. Brandon really enjoyed it and it was good for him to watch me and some of the other seniors training to get an idea of what it’s all about and what else there is to learn as you progress through the grades. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed going on a training session with one of my boys.

Holly :- Not much to say about the little girl really. She eats, sleeps, poops and sits there looking cute at the moment. On Friday night Tina went out for the night with the Mum’s from the school and it was the first time I had all 3 kids on my own. The boys were no problem and were tucked up in bed sound asleep by 8:30pm. I changed Holly’s nappy around 9:30pm and fed her around 10pm, then she was very restless and decided to scream most of the night. I decided to ride this one out with her and let her get it out of her system. By 12 o’clock I had had enough and decided to change her nappy again and then give her another 100ml feed. Once this was done she dropped off into a very deep sleep and didn’t wake until 5:30am – result!
