Festive Table for Four or Five?

Yesterday Joshua had his final Christmas Party of the year as Beavers ended the year with a 2.5 hour festive based party with food and games. Joshua seemed to have loads of fun and was extremely tired when he got home. However he definitely takes after me as bedtime is getting more and more challenging the close we get to Christmas. Joshua was convinced that Santa was coming last night and was most disappointed when I told him he still had two more sleeps. He has also been complaining about a sore belly which is clearly signs of him getting over excited about Christmas and feeling sick (like father like son!).

Today Brandon wanted to dress up really smart and was really excited about going to his cousin Amy's 18th birthday party. A round of bowling and having dinner out is pretty much the perfect evening for Brandon. After the first couple of rounds of bowling both Joshua and Brandon gave up using the children's roller cage and were trying to bowl the ball on their own. The results weren't that bad as Brandon and Joshua both beat the much older cousin Matt!!!

Brandon all dressed up with his shirt, bow tie and his hair gelled.
Before going out I had a few games of Football table, table tennis and pool with the boys. I had to take this picture of Brandon playing pool with his bow tie on as he reminded me of a proper little snooker player at the Crucible.

What a pro, he really looks the part.

Once home tonight the boys were both keen to go to bed as they knew Santa was en route. I have had some unusual questions from Joshua like how fast does Santa's sleigh travel? Where abouts in the world is he at the moment? etc? etc? Anyway before going to be tonight both the boys helped me prepare the snack and drinks for Santa and his reindeer's. Tonight Santa will have Guinness and a mince pie and the reindeer will have carrots and milk.

Santa's snack and drink all prepared by the boys and the magic door keys left outside.

No sooner had the boys gone to bed and it was time for me to perform my Santa duties and get the presents all around the tree and in some sort of order and to lay the kitchen table ready for the Christmas feast tomorrow.

I think the boys will be pleasantly surprised when they open the living room door tomorrow morning.

The dining table all prepared ready for our Christmas feast tomorrow. For this year I can get away with this layout, however you may have noticed their are only 4 placings laid and we now have five of us in the family. Looks like a new crockery set is in order for next year.

Not a bad Christmas dining table, shame their is only 4 places and not 5!

Maybe I can get away with this table for next year as well as Holly should be in a high chair by then.

The boys were very well behaved at Amy's 18th birthday bash and seemed to really enjoy themselves.
I can see why the boys struggled with the pool cues as the ones they use at home are a lot smaller and lighter!
It looks like Santa has been very generous, you 5 Kings must have been exceptionally good this year! xxx
